Your Actions Here (Maureen Burn)

Why do people talk so much about heaven and hell? It’s unhealthy. Everything depends on your actions here: they can be one way or the other. You can help people, work for others, and be very joyous because of it. If you let the spirit of Jesus into your heart, then the kingdom of heaven is within you. But if you are out for yourself, you will be grumpy. You will never be satisfied, because you will always be wanting more.

It is the way we live now that should concern us. Certainly I don’t think one should fear. The old Persian Zoroaster says that ultimately Good will triumph over all. He will win over the Liar, the Evil One. So I think one should be joyful. And Teresa of Avila, the Spanish mystic, said, “Always be joyful. That is the only truly saintly state.”

"Why do people talk so much about heaven and hell?..." .."If you let the spirit of Jesus into your heart, then the kingdom of heaven is within you."

sounds like a contradiction to what you say in the first couple of lines my friend.

anyhow, so your point is " doing "good" makes one happy and eventually one gets there (wherever there is)." Now, one of the logical conclusions to that statement would be " "all" people who do "bad" are not happy and/or go to hell (wherever that is)"

Thats just pure analysis.
But dont we see enough contradictions to that conclusion around us? What does that say?

1) Either I am bullshitting (can never rule that out, can you? :) )

2) Or something is wrong with the theory.

My suggestion: lets think about our theory a little more.

Life isn't that easy to be explained in one book, one religion or even one god-like figure. Otherwise, world would have been a much better place by now (considering how many prophets and god-like figures have taken birth, and how many religions exist today).

Sorry if I made this too convoluted for your readers or you to comprehend.

Nice one!

Keep bloggin.
